A family farm
rooted in the highlands

Nestled at the foot of Mount Batukaru, the second highest peak in Bali, our family has been farming this land since 1988. Surrounded by terraced rice fields, coffee plantations and the last remaining primary rainforest in Bali, we grow clean, honest food.

We started with a simple vision — to grow the best possible food, without shortcuts, without chemicals, without harming the land that has fed our family for generations. — Iskandar Waworuntu, founder

Today we deliver that same food, grown by the same hands, straight to your doorstep across South and Central Bali.

After breakfast, take a walk around the farm and discover where your food comes from. Meet the people behind the farm, explore our organic gardens, and learn about how we grow, harvest, and work with nature.

A slow and delicious start to the day, followed by a chance to experience the farm and learn how we do things.

A day to "Wonder"

After breakfast and the farm tour, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Laze around the farmhouse, take a leisurely walk through the plantations, or wander through the rice paddies and surrounding countryside, keeping an eye out for the birds and wildlife along the way.

For those feeling a little more adventurous, a beautiful waterfall trek is just a village away; an easy way to explore more of the nature and countryside around the farm.

As the day "Slows"

As the day comes to an end, slow down and watch the sun set over the rice paddies, surrounded by the gentle sounds of nature.

Enjoy a wholesome farm-to-table dinner made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, then gather around the bonfire beneath a sky full of stars.

A simple, peaceful way to end a day at the farm.

Temuku Pupuan farm stay FAQs

Is Temuku Pupuan a traditional farm stay or a luxury hotel?

Temuku Pupuan is a traditional farm stay in the Bali highlands, at the foot of Mount Batukaru. We offer a rustic wooden farmhouse with comfort and essential amenities, surrounded by the natural beauty of a working farm. Expect a simple, down-to-earth stay close to nature rather than a luxury hotel experience.

Do we have the whole farmhouse and property to ourselves?

Yes. We rent out one three-bedroom farmhouse, rather than individual rooms or multiple villas. When you book the house, your group has the whole house and property to yourselves.

How far is Temuku Pupuan from Denpasar?

Temuku Pupuan is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours from Denpasar by car, depending on traffic. We can help arrange transportation if needed; please let us know when planning your stay.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is at 2:30 pm and check-out is at 11:30 am, Bali local time.

Is there a restaurant, and can we cook our own meals?

We do not have a restaurant, but guests can choose from our home-cooked menu, prepared with fresh vegetables and ingredients from the farm. The farmhouse also has a fully equipped kitchen if you prefer to cook your own meals.

What activities can we enjoy during our farm stay?

On the property, you can enjoy bonfire evenings, farm tours, farm learning activities and nature treks. Children can also take part in feeding the farm animals.

Excursions include waterfall visits and hikes on Mount Batukaru. Contact us to discuss the activities you would like to include in your stay.

Can we bring our dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome, but they must be kept on a leash at all times when outside to protect our free-range chickens and other farm birds. Please let us know if you plan to bring your dog and ask us for the complete pet policy before booking.

What other facilities are available on the property?

The property has an organic farm, a bakery and a children's playground, as well as the farmhouse's fully equipped kitchen. Be sure to try our mulberry pie during your visit.

Is a security deposit required?

Yes, a security deposit is required. It is returned on departure, less any deductions needed to cover accidental or intentional damage to the house or any part of the property.

What should first-time farm-stay guests know about wildlife?

Temuku Pupuan is surrounded by rice terraces and forest, and our older wooden farmhouse is part of this natural setting. We clean the house daily and take care to keep it clean, but insects, geckos, caterpillars, frogs, snakes or mice may occasionally enter the house.

Avoid touching furry caterpillars, as they can cause itching. Please consider your comfort with occasional wildlife encounters before booking. If you are not comfortable sharing your surroundings with nature, this farm stay may not be the right fit for you.
